Harry Redknapp’s response to their second successive defeat in a 3-0 loss to their North London rivals:
“The two sloppy goals we gave away turned the game upside down,”
“I thought they (Arsenal) were edgy, giving the ball away, the crowd was moaning at every mistake. I thought we would come in at half-time in great shape.”
“For 42 minutes I didn’t see anything where I was sitting thinking, ‘we are out of our depth here’.”
“We made two mistakes. They let in four goals at Manchester City (last month), does that make them a bad team? That’s how it goes.”
Really Mr. Redknapp? The crowd was moaning at every mistake the team made? Sounds like you are moaning at the fact that your ‘no-gap ordinary’ North London rivals were smart enough to pounce on your ‘equally talented’ teams defensive errors to score three past you to retain bragging rights – bragging rights which by the way, they never lost considering they have not missed qualifying for the Champions league for the past ten seasons while you struggle in mid-table and even flirted with relegation a few times.
Also a little reminder Mr. ‘Houdini’ – in the Manchester City game, not at any point in the game did Arsenal show a total capitulation to the opposition as your ‘experienced filled’ team did against Arsenal on Saturday.
Mr. Redknapp you might want to glance down the annals of your clubs history with your North London rivals before you outlandishly claim there is no gap in class! For crying out loud, you haven’t won a league game against Arsenal in 10 years, precisely November 1999.
It’s amazing how much talk is cheap without the currency of actions to back it up.
