SAF’s successful fitness tactic

SirAlexFergusonSir Alex Ferguson has a reputation of giving his two cents or more most especially when he feels he or Manchester United have been wronged in some way or another. But his recent rant about referee Alan Wiley who was in the center when Sunderland visited Manchester United is just a typical Fergie comic show.

What does the referee being fit have anything to do with that particular game? Even if the referee had made comments about ‘needing a rest’ to Wayne Rooney or according to SAF “it took him 30 seconds to book a player”, so what?

Anyone who actually watched that game knows that Manchester United’s display was real flat and disappointing to their fans. Sunderland played them all over the park on the day. The referee in my opinion did have a good game. There was nothing in that game that warranted extra stress or effort from Mr. Wiley because Sunderland made sure of that.

It’s not the fact that referees cannot be questioned about their decisions in the game or the fact SAF expressed his opinion but it’s the fact that this more or less hypocritical of SAF. Why? He is all bossom buddy with referees when it favors his team but quick to criticize the same group because they refuse his time-keeping advice in a game.

It’s just another ploy by SAF to shift the focus away from Manchester United’s absolutely dismal and uninspiring performance – which by the looks of it has been successful so far. Now everyone is now talking about the fact that Alan Wiley is fitter than a butcher’s dog being proven by kilometers on paper or the fact that the FA asked SAF to explain his statement , possibly a foreshadow of a punishment and should he be punished or not instead of railing about the poor Man. Utd Vs. Sunderland.

Sometimes, it’s good to see some guts and a matter of integrity to own up to underperformance tilting towards despicable without pointing fingers at a ‘conditional friendly foe’ even if it is from a Knight of the Realm in the name of Sir Alex Ferguson!
