The Board

Blackburn    0-0      Stoke

This scoreless result favors Stoke City m0re than it does Blackburn but Big Sam of Blackburn on the recuperation table will probably be happy with one point than no points.

Fulham           1-1        Bolton Wanderers

Gary Megson lives to die another day. It just seems like regardless of what he does of how well the club is doing on the table, the fans just don’t seem to like him. It also doesn’t help that Bolton is in the relegation zone after that match with Fulham, who on the other hand have performed very well this season and sit 9th on the heels of this game.

Manchester City               1-1          Hull City

Going to Eastlands and getting a draw is an excellent result for Hull City considering the roll of the tongue players in the Manchester City team. But Mark Hughes on the other hand must be reading each grey strand on his head seeking wisdom on what to do get a win after their record setting 7 straight consecutive draws in the premiership.

AvramGrantRPortsmouth        1-4          Manchester United

Wayne Rooney gets a hat-trick in this game with a semi-decent Portsmouth side. Avram Grant may have been appointed for a ‘new energy and new direction’ away from the bottom of the league table for Portsmouth but unfortunately the way up is far from Portsmouth path at the moment. This Portsmouth performance was nothing compared with the previous Pompey performances in the last few games of Paul Hart’s reign.  A new manager, same results sad to say.

West Ham           5-3          Burnley

This game turned out to be a thriller eventually. I almost completely snubbed this game and preferred to watch the Pompey game against Man U only to find out just before half time that West Ham was 3-0 up. Good result for Zola’s boys who seem to have been rejuvenated since there 2-2 draw against their London rivals Arsenal. I don’t know what the scoreline says about their defense though after being 5-0 up.

Wigan   1-0          Sunderland

After being completely demolished by Tottenham last week, Wigan bounces back with a win against the team who beat Arsenal also last week – Sunderland. This result shows incredible character for Roberto Martinez boys to take themselves up by the collar, dust off the shame and disappointment from the Spurs game and did their job to ensure they got a win against a decent side. Good job boys.

Aston Villa           1-1          Tottenham Hotspurs

This result takes the Villans to sixth on the league table while it thrusts Tottenham to third. Reports have it Spurs had majority of the chances and if not for heroics from the Villa defense this might be have been a win for the North London team. Generally, a good result for both teams I would say.
